Does my data leave my device?
Meridian is offline-first: projects, layers, and edits stay on your device unless you choose to export, share, use your own iCloud Drive, load online basemaps, or connect to a public data source. The app works without a Meridian account. See our privacy page.
What coordinate system and accuracy does it use?
Meridian stores editable geometry in WGS84/CRS84, uses geodesic math for measurements, and now supports source-CRS definition, projected import transforms, a searchable CRS picker, coordinate conversion, and target-CRS export for supported formats.
What does it cost?
Meridian is free to download and free to use with your own data within the free-tier limits: two projects (samples don't count), imports and exports up to 1,000 features per layer, and up to five imported layers per project. Drawing, editing, styling, labels, the attribute table, validation, CRS tools, basemaps, and every export format are included in the free version.
Meridian Pro is a single purchase at your local App Store price. It removes those limits and adds spatial analysis, the field calculator, tabular joins, the Workflow Builder, charts, the PDF map layout, and Map Briefs. See the pricing section for the full breakdown.
I bought Pro. How do I get it on my other device, or after a reinstall?
Meridian Pro is a single non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple Account, so it covers your Mac and iPad together. On a new device or after reinstalling, open Settings → Meridian Pro → Restore Purchases. Your entitlement is verified on-device against Apple's records, so it also works offline once restored.
Which platforms are supported?
Meridian is a full native workspace on Mac and iPad. The universal iOS app also includes a focused iPhone companion for project review, layer visibility, attributes, notes, measuring, and iCloud conflict-safe saves.
A native Windows 11 app is built and in testing but not yet released. It is a desktop peer of the Mac app, running the same engine and opening the same .gispad projects.
Can I import and export my existing data?
Yes. Meridian imports GeoJSON, GeoPackage, Shapefile, KML/KMZ, CSV spatial tables, PMTiles, and read-only File Geodatabase. It can also import from OGC API Features, WFS, ArcGIS Feature Services, and curated open data providers. Exports include clean GeoJSON, GeoPackage, Shapefile zip, styled KML/KMZ, CSV + WKT/WKP, PDF map layouts, and multi-page Map Briefs.
Can I run the same analysis again next month?
Yes. In Workflow Builder, you can connect analysis tools into a graph, run the chain as one job, and save it with the project for later. Analysis History also records individual runs, so you can repeat a previous job from its stored recipe.
Does Meridian track my location or read my photos?
Location works only while Meridian is in the foreground. A GPS track records while you have a recording running and pauses when you leave the app. For geotagged-photo imports and feature attachments, Meridian reads only the images you select in the system picker. Details are on the privacy page.
